We have a reputation for exceptional service ensuring that you enjoy the most beautiful water feature possible.
Our water features are built and designed to be low-maintenance, and include measures that mirror nature and keep algae under control. However, even nature needs a little help sometimes.
Your water feature’s mechanical equipment plays a vital part of preserving the health of your system. This is why we use the best pumps on the market so that it will keep your system running for
years to come. With our automatic top up system installed in our water features, you will never have to manually add water due to natural evaporation. Perennial Aquatic Plants, and hardy water lilies
act as a part of your features eco-system, helping to keep the growth of algae down to a minimum by drawing out many of the extra algae causing nutrients in the water. In this, Babbling Brooks
follows Mother Nature’s lead.
Babbling Brooks is a GREEN company, which is why we offer a variety of natural water treatments and products to keep your water crystal clear. We are now installing wetlands and floating island
additions which mimic nature in the way these flourishing habitats act as a natural filter for the water.
Floating Islands
Floating Islands dramatically enhance the beauty of a pond; providing a lush habitat for aquatic life, while improving the water quality of the feature naturally. These gorgeous ecosystems utilize
native Alberta plants such as water irises, cattails, water sedges, yellow creeping jenny, and marsh marigolds to absorb nutrients directly from the water causing the plants to thrive while
diminishing the excess phosphates and other nutrients which lead to algae growth and cloudy water. Floating Islands are a beautiful addition to any pond as they work to effectively filter and
maintain the health of water gardens.
Wetlands
Babbling Brooks’ wetlands mimic nature as an efficient filtration system. Positioned on the edge of any pond or stream, these ecosystems are saturated with a variety of native Alberta plants
creating a habitat which allows the beneficial bacteria to thrive on the oxygen-rich plant roots, converting the organic waste matter into usable nutrients. In nature, one acre of natural wetlands
can filter 20,000 gallons of water in just one day. Our wetlands utilize this concept through plants, pebbles, jyra rock, and an energy efficient pump to draw out excess nutrients which algae need to
survive, creating a vibrant extension to any waterscape.
Depending on your needs, we offer several affordable and specialized maintenance packages designed so that each feature gets the personalized care it deserves to look and flow at its very
best.
